Virginia Squires

The Virginia Squires were an American Basketball Association team based in Norfolk, VA. Founded as the Oakland Oaks in 1967, the team moved to Washington, D.C., in 1970 and were renamed the Caps. They moved across the Potomac the following year to become the Squires. Their most famous players were Julius "Dr. J." Irving, George Gervin, and Willie Sojourner.
