Phoenix Roadrunners

The Phoenix Roadrunners were the Arizona capital's first pro hockey team when they began play in the Western Hockey League in 1967. In 1974, they moved up to the majors when they joined the World Hockey Association before folding in 1977. Over the years, four more teams would use the Roadrunners nickname, including a squad in the International Hockey League.
