This Indianapolis liquor store gained national fame in 1977 during the first ever NBA Slam Dunk Contest. A similar contest was held the previous season in the rival ABA. When the established league absorbed four teams from its nemesis, it also adopted the Slam Dunk Contest. Darnell Hillman, a former ABA player with Indiana, one of the four teams to join the NBA, made the finals. However, he had been traded to the New Jersey Nets but had yet to sign a contract. Instead of wearing a team jersey, he opted for a plain white tank top for the competition. In the post-contest interview he don a Bottle Shoppe T-shirt at the request of a friend. The store is still in business to this day.
*Jersey is 100% polyester and we recommend sizing up!
