Venezuela native Eugenio Suárez came out of Detroit's system, having signed as a free agent with the club in 2008. In 2018 he was named to the All-Star Team. He arrived in Cincinnati late in 2014 as part of an off-season trade. He became the Cincinnati's starting shortstop in June of 2015 and has since become a fan favorite. In 2022 he was traded to Seattle.
